The Orthopaedic Center of Central Virginia, Inc. is known as The Orthopaedic Center and was established in 2005 by a group of forward-thinking physicians committed to making a difference in orthopaedic care in the region.

The physicians at Blue Ridge Orthopedics, Central Virginia Orthopaedics, and Piedmont Orthopaedic Surgery saw a way to develop a center for excellence in complete musculoskeletal medical services: They combined their practices into The Orthopaedic Center.

As a group, the combined resources of fellowship trained surgeons, board certified physicians, physician assistants, physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing and x-ray staff offer the community a wealth of experience and expertise within one practice.

The Orthopedic Center now provides the only comprehensive care center in Central Virginia. In addition to general orthopaedics and sports medicine, we offer specialists in rheumatology, physiatry, and we have both an Osteoporosis Center and a Spine Center.

We have complemented our existing leading edge diagnostic equipment with an in-house MRI. The unique design of the FONAR Upright MRI enables us to image patients while sitting, standing or reclining.  When in this MRI, patients have an unobstructed view ahead decreasing the sense of confinement common to traditional and other open MRI scanners.  You can even watch television while having the scan done.  The diagnostic abilities of this machine will provide our physicians with the images needed to better treat you!
