“I grew up in Roanoke, traveling to Lynchburg
often to play high school basketball and tennis. I took
a long course around the world attending undergraduate
school at UVA, medical school at MCV, orthopaedic training
in Dallas, and fellowship training in New Zealand and
Australia before landing at CVO in 1995. I am married
with two sons and enjoy fishing, golf, running, and
spending time with my family. I am also an avid UVA
fan.
“My love of all varieties of sports drew me towards
sports medicine. I stay close to sports through my involvement
with the Amherst Lancers, Lynchburg Hillcats, Lynchburg
College Athletic Trainers, and my sons' athletic pursuits.
“Knee and shoulder surgery are my primary orthopaedic
subspecialty interests. I treat athletic injuries as
well as degenerative conditions involving these and
other joints. My goal is to provide the most up-to-date
treatments available, both surgically and conservatively.
I am a Carticel trained surgeon, which allows resurfacing
of the bone surfaces in acute injuries in younger patients.
My surgical practice primarily involves arthroscopic
procedures and joint replacements. I am also keenly
interested in fracture/trauma management, particularly
in children.”
