Gifts for Gulu

    We along with Sports Outreach Institute, Lynchburg College and Riverside Runners will be hosting the 2nd annual Gifts for Gulu “Water for Life” 5K race and children’s one mile “Water for Gulu Fun Run” which will be held on March 14, 2009 at Lynchburg College’s Shellenberger Track and surrounding campus.  The race will benefit the “Gifts for Gulu” program whose purpose is to help raise awareness about genocide and collect new/used athletic shoes and equipment which will be sent to the people of Gulu.
    Starting time for the 5K is 9:00 am at Lynchburg College.  The Children’s Fun Run begins at 10:00.  Entry fee for the 5K is $15.00 before March 13th and $20.00 day of the race.  The Children’s “Gulu Fun Run” is $5.00 before March 13 and $7.00 day of race.  All ages and activity levels are encouraged to participate.  Food, drink and short sleeve wicking shirts will be given to all registered for the 5K.  Participants in the Gulu Fun Run will receive a cotton t-shirt.
Special gifts from the children of Gulu will be given as prizes, as well as to all children who participate in the Gulu Fun Run.
